Pyramix Native has been primarily designed for, as its name implies, native audio editing on laptops computers, using their on-board audio hardware. Pyramix Native is therefore designed to be compatible with any audio interface supporting Windows WDM Direct Sound / Direct Capture and offers two channel of I/O to and from Windows, the host computer and its associated audio hardware.
Since some third party manufacturer do provide their outboard audio interface units with WDM Direct Sound / Direct Capture compatible drivers, customers may find it handy to use such devices to enhance the sound quality of their Native audio jobs, particularly for recording. For their convenience, we are listing below, as examples, several items that have been tested with Pyramix Native on a Toshiba laptop.
As an example of the immense processing power available in Pyramix, it has the capability to offer true record, editing and mixing capability in 32 bit floating point at 352.8 kHz operation. Pyramix is the only system in the world that can achieve this and therefore it is the only system capable of multi-track DSD/SACD recording, editing, mixing and mastering in 1 bit 2.8MHz DSD signals, and even in 5.1 surround sound.
