The S-series is a wholly new design - new suspension concept, new materials, new windshield construction - and retains all the renowned Rycote features of flexibility, balance and professional performance. It is lightweight with a minimum of parts, tough enough to withstand the rigours of ENG and simple to use straight out of the box - with the XLR cable supplied.
Includes cable fitted with Neutrik NC3 (XLR-style) connectors.
S-series Suspensions-series
 One-piece web suspension elements - no rubbers or elastics- Patented design gives ideal isolation for all axial microphones
- Unaffected by temperature and all-but unbreakable
- Suitable for microphones 19mm (¾”) to 25mm (1”) in shaft diameter
- Snap-in webs with six positions for perfect balance and fit
- Matched, high-flexibility microphone cable with twin clamps
- Pinch-release fittings for webs and cable clamps for quick and easy repositioning

Cable/Connectors Specification

 Balanced microphone twin with ultra-fine stranded copper cores (18 x 0.1mm) and a helical screen
- 3mm soft PVC jacket for high flexibility even at low temperatures
- 3-pin Neutrik NC3 (XLR-style) connectors with gold-finished pins
- For microphones with 5-pin XLR outputs the S-series cable will not fit. At this time we do not provide a 5-pin XLR cable option.
Structure
 Steel spine for core strength and rigidity- Central chassis ring secures windshield pods and allows fast access to the microphone
- Chassis ring can be demounted when only a suspension is required
All S-series systems will be supplied with our NEW pistol grip handle.
S-series windshield (windscreen)
- The windshield (windscreen) uses pairs of “Pods” which twist-lock to the chassis ring
- All pods are 100mm (4”) diameter but come in three different lengths (see sizes below)
- Four kit sizes combine the Pods to house microphones from <200mm (8”) to a maximum of 410mm (16”)
- The acoustic fur covering (30mm staple) is integral and can give >30dB windnoise suppression (100-500Hz)
Important Notice - September 2007
Due to customer feedback, we have increased the number of Pod sizes on the S-series system from three to four sizes.The new U125 Pod (5”) will be used on the S-300 kit with a U180 Pod (7”) to give improved balance, and to clearly define the front of the windshield from the rear. Below are the revised sizes and order codes.

General guide for length
For microphone lengths (excluding XLR)
- 200mm (8”) or less to 255mm (10” ) lengths use a S-series 300 kit
- 260mm (10” ) to 280mm (11” ) lengths - use S-series 330 kit
- 285mm (11” ) to 325mm (13”) lengths - use S-series 375 kit
- 355mm (14” ) to 410mm (16” ) lengths - use the S-series 450 kit
